Life Groups
Sunday School
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”(Romans 10:17)
"Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
Sunday School is integral to education and evangelism. Our purpose is to guide all age groups to know and experience God’s divine plan and purposes in their lives and to equip them for His service. While we seek to activate the Great Commission in the lives of students, we also propel them to a lifetime of holiness living.
Our goals are to raise each student to be:
Sunday School classes begin at 9:30 am with prayer & praise and worship, and continue until 10:30 am. We have 17 classes in different age groups, from toddlers to seniors. Our Pastor conducts the adult class. The faithful dedication of our Sunday school teachers and their deep knowledge of Scripture are manifestly channeled to the benefit of students and the church body alike.
Children's Church
Christ's words in Mark 10:14 are the fuel of our ministry: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” In the midst of his tireless dedication to people of all ages, Jesus gently ministered to children. We believe the future of the church depends on effective ministry to children today.
Our Vision Statement:
Sharing the love and joy of Jesus with an emerging generation so that their privilege in the Lord is protected and cultivated towards a glorious destiny
In the face of 21st century challenges, the church must strengthen its commitment to every child, teaching them effectively and winning them to Christ as early as the Holy Spirit grants opportunity. The objective is to make each child a lifelong disciple of Jesus and to empower them to be disciple-makers even as they branch out into all that life has for them.
We, at ICA, do not take for granted the opportunity we have to be world changers and world-shapers by the power we wield when we minister to even the youngest of our Children's Ministry attendees. Sunday Worship is the jewel of our weekly Children's Ministry activities – starting at 10:30 am. Children's Church is held on all regular Sundays. All children ages 10 and under are welcome.
The Youth
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19)
The goal of this ministry is to equip the youth of India Christian Assembly with resources and training to become Godly leaders, dedicated servants, and most importantly, unrelenting disciples. We aim to make a difference in the Christian and non-Christian community for the cause of Christ.
This ministry is a platform that propels young people to be leaders in the context of Christian service. Through the efforts of this ministry, young people are motivated to develop ideas for various initiatives, projects and events, which may take the form of contributions in worship, message/prayer series, and outreach efforts. Providing leadership to a program, activity or project, which would be a specific subset or an extension of the Youth Ministry, is expected of all in the youth group.
We set a high bar of expectation on service and ministry using Jesus Christ as our model in all things. He gave us His all and was not only obedient to death on the Cross but also perfectly finished the Father's will for Him.
We are most gratified to see talented young people take ownership of their faith and lead others to a greater standing in Christ through the use of their gifts and talents. We request your prayers for this critical end time ministry.
The Couples
Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed (Proverbs 15:22) This ministry seeks to create a framework for the support and growth of a pivotal group within the church – couples that are the gateway to strong families. The most pressing goal of the fellowship is to foster interactions, which lead to deeper roots within and among families.
The fellowship meetings consist of team building and growth-oriented activities like joint prayer sessions, experiential sharing, interactive routines/games, fun meals and book club presentations.
Fellowship meetings are typically held once a month and they exhibit continuity in agenda (ex. natural progression of topics successively covered) as opposed to unrelated individual sessions. The leadership for meetings shifts from couple to couple in an order that usually observes an exceptional and comprehensive involvement from all attendees.
This is an emerging ministry that has high hopes for being an instrument through which the nuclear families of the church are strengthened and further, are emboldened to a higher level of Christian service.
Charity
ICA is renowned for its long-standing charitable efforts. Every family in our church participates, in one way or another, in a charity program.
Our hearts are uniquely joined to enable this special ministry and our specific goal for this year is to reach the poor, needy, helpless but deserving students with timely assistance. The ICA Charity Board works solely for the purpose of “changing lives”
It is written ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’ (Mathew 25:40). Let all that you do be done with love; God loves a cheerful giver.
God is able to make all grace abound towards you so that you - having all sufficiency in all things - may have exuberance for every good work.
Our programs provide scholarship support to promising students in need of financial aid. Our commitment towards scholarship recipients extends until they complete the matriculated program.
The primary educational fields of students receiving financial support are Theology, Nursing and Engineering, with 16 students in that distribution.
At present, we maintain a Vocational Training Facility at Munnar Kerala state, India which has an enrollment of 15 students who receive free tailoring lessons and then sewing machines upon graduation.
The Training School is managed by Mrs. Susamma Joshua under the supervision of IPC Sodari Samajam as directed by our Charity Board.
Missions
Spreading the gospel to the lost is the primary responsibility of a Church and every Christian. Apostle Paul asks “How can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?“ (Romans 10:14).
Taking this as a challenge, India Christian Assembly formed a Mission board in 2006 for the better operations of our missions’ movement. At present, we support evangelists in some of the most needy and un-reached areas of Chattisgarth, Orissa, Nepal, West Bengal and Kerala. This work is primarily supported by the regular contributions of ICA believers.
The dedicated workers we have commissioned are spreading the good news and conducting worship services, layman training and youth ministries in the regions of our work. By the grace of God, several churches have also been planted in the areas of work - and the ministry is flourishing.
