Anyone who has played sports is familiar with the 'do-over' concept. A young aspiring basketball player may imagine himself/herself a legend when standing at the free throw line, about to take a shot. I myself have done that SO many times over the years - I'd pretend I was Michael Jordan and I was given a free throw after I was fouled by an imaginary defender.
In the event the free shot is missed (which was quite often in my case), it would not be uncommon for the person (me) to rationalize that the miss was due to inequitable factors out of the person's control, thus requiring a do-over. We all need a do-over sometimes - a fresh start. Thank God that we serve a Saviour who made the way for a second start for all of us who believe.
Our goal is to connect with people and lead them into authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments where people are equipped and encouraged to point up, point in, and point out. So, it's 'Open House' to all - welcome one, welcome all!
